In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and admiration to the representatives from all divisions within Malaysian Ophthalmology who have united in their commitment to build a stronger Eye Community and enhance services for the rakyat of our beloved nation.
The inaugural Malaysian Ophthalmology Scientific Congress (MOSC) is a major milestone in promoting collaboration. It is fitting that we begin this journey alongside our esteemed colleagues from the Ministry of Health, right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Our shared vision is to break down the traditional barriers separating trainees from consultants, private practice from public service, and services from academia. Through MOSC, we aspire to create a dynamic platform where the latest research, surgical techniques, and knowledge can be shared under one roof.
My sincere congratulations to the organising committee and sponsors who have embraced this vision and worked tirelessly to bring it to life. Let us all take pride in playing our part in this historic moment for Malaysian Ophthalmology.
With Warmest Regards,
Dr Miswan Muiz Mahyudin
Co-Chairperson

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahiwabarakatuh & greetings
Welcome to the Malaysian Ophthalmology Scientific Congress (MOSC) 2025!
We are thrilled to present MOSC 2025, an extraordinary congress that marks our first effort to unite the leading figures in Malaysia's ophthalmology community. This event merges the rich traditions of the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology (MSO) and the Conjoint Ophthalmology Scientific Conference (COSC) of the Malaysian Universities Conjoint Committee of Ophthalmology (MUCCO). Our goal is to strengthen the ophthalmology fraternity in Malaysia, catalyse numerous activities to improve ophthalmic care, enhance training, and promote collaborative projects in research, innovation, and advocacy for blindness prevention.
MOSC 2025 will feature experts not only from Malaysia but also from the Asia Pacific region. The congress boasts 46 hours of scientific sessions covering 13 subspecialties, including dedicated sessions for paramedics and optometrists. These sessions are meticulously curated by conveners, coordinators, and secretaries from the Ministry of Health, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, the College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine Malaysia (COOAMM), and MSO.
In addition to the scientific sessions, MOSC 2025 will host a variety of interactive sessions: debates on current and controversial topics in ophthalmology, intervarsities’ quizzes, video competition showcasing educational and inspiring films related to ophthalmology, e-poster discussions where researchers can present and discuss their posters in an engaging format, free paper presentations providing a platform for researchers to share their latest findings and innovations
We are honoured to have distinguished keynote speakers for the Dato’ Dr Mohammad Noor Marhakim Award and the Dato’ Dr Selvarajah Award:
Dato’ Dr Mohammad Noor Marhakim Award: This keynote address will be delivered by a prominent figure in ophthalmology, celebrating the legacy of Dato’ Dr Mohammad Noor Marhakim, who was instrumental in initiating ophthalmology postgraduate training in Malaysia.
Dato’ Dr Selvarajah Award: This award honours both national and international figure who have made significant contributions to research and demonstrated strong leadership within the ophthalmology fraternity.
Join us for this landmark event and be part of a transformative experience in the field of ophthalmology.
